Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
Steven Ly for Rosemead City Council 2026 (“the campaign,” “we,” “us”) operates this website. This policy explains what information we collect through the site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to this policy.
Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message, and, if you choose to add them, your phone number, your neighborhood and the reason you’re writing (for example, to volunteer or request a yard sign).
- Newsletter sign-up. Your email address.
- Emails you send us. Whatever you include in your message.
Please don’t send sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers or medical details through the website.
Contributions
Contributions are made on a separate secure page run by our online contribution provider, eFundraising Connections. The campaign does not receive or store your full card number. That page collects the information California law requires from contributors, such as name, address, occupation and employer, and its own privacy policy also applies.
Under California’s Political Reform Act, the campaign must publicly report the name, address, occupation and employer of anyone whose contributions total $100 or more. These reports are filed with the City of Rosemead and are public records.
Information collected automatically
Our website is hosted by Vercel. Like most web hosts, its servers keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the visit, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. The site does not set cookies for visitors. The only cookie it uses keeps campaign staff signed in to the private news editor.
How we use your information
- To answer your questions and follow up on requests for yard signs, volunteering or events.
- To send campaign updates, if you signed up for them.
- To organize volunteers and campaign activities.
- To meet our legal obligations, including campaign finance reporting.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
If you give us your phone number, we will use it to follow up on your message. We will not add you to recurring calls or text messages unless you agree to receive them.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run the campaign and this website, including Vercel (website hosting), Twilio SendGrid (delivering form messages to our inbox) and eFundraising Connections (processing contributions). They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
- When the law requires it, such as campaign finance disclosures or a valid legal request.
- To protect the rights, safety and security of the campaign, our volunteers or the public.
Your choices
- You can stop receiving campaign updates at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing stevenly@stevenlyforrosemead.com. We will honor your request unless the law requires us to keep the information, as it does for contribution records.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as long as California law requires campaign records to be kept.
Security
The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to campaign records is limited to people who need it. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
“Do Not Track” signals
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because this site does not track visitors across other websites, it works the same way whether or not the signal is on.
Other websites
This site links to websites we don’t control, including our contribution page and California’s voter registration site. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
